2018-2019 Executive Position Openings

The Allenwood PTG is currently looking to fill three executive positions for the 2018-2019 school year including Vice President, Class Parent Organizer Coordinator, and Communications Coordinator.  Getting involved with the PTG is the great way to get involved in the Allenwood community and to get to know other parents, teachers and administrators.  Please see job descriptions below.
Nominations can be sent to info@awptg.org.

Vice President– The PTG Vice President acts as an aide to the President. She/he plays a large role in the day-to-day operations of the PTG, helping to formulate long-range plans, work out issues as they arise, and participate in Executive Board discussions and decision making. The Vice President will manage the PTG membership drive and maintain database of volunteers and provide lists as required. In the event that the President is unable to fulfill his/her duties, the Vice President shall take over the responsibilities of the President. Ideally, the Vice President is willing to serve as President in the future. Attends monthly PTG meetings.

Class Parent Organizer Coordinator– The CPO Coordinator’s main purpose is to coordinate the class parent organizer program which supports teachers and provides parent volunteers to individual classrooms as needed (ie. class parties, Square One fundraiser, Art Appreciation.) The Coordinator will assign a CPO to each K-5 classroom and hold one meeting in September with new CPOs regarding expectations. Additionally, he/she will communicate with room parents regarding major events. Attends monthly PTG meetings.

Communications Coordinator-The Communications Coordinator shall collaborate with all board members to document policies and procedures for the PTG. They will work closely with the Principal and Board to get the word out on news and activities. The Coordinator publishes available information, including putting together newsletters, website content, remind app, and social media posts. Attends monthly PTG meetings.
